One very hot and humid July day in 1998 we took our new daughter to the Woodenboat show in St. Micheals, MD. For anyone who has never been there, it is an idyllic place on the Chesapeake Bay, full of old boats, old buildings and history. If only it wasn't so very hot that day. I didn't like it and Megan was not used to it.
For the woodworker, however, other than a pleasant day of relaxing, looking at old boats (I fell in love with one beautiful, old catboat while I was there), there is the annual boatbuilding contest. Well I don't know if it is really a contest, or just an event. I do know that you have a choice of crafts to build and you put them together right there at the show.
When Megan is a little older, we are going back and building one of those little boats. It looks like a great time!
