Yup. The summer of 1996 my mommy wanted a chicken barn to house laying hens. How big? What shape? How tall? Well, all mom could tell me was she wanted it red with white trim and shaped like an old fashioned barn from her youth, whatever that was. After 30 minutes or so, I came up with a suitable design, and my dad and I proceeded to build it.
This is me looking real happy about something. We made the barn out of rough milled lumber from my uncle's farm so the dimensions were all off adding to the challenge. Here you see the framework mostly complete. It turned out very well even though I don't have any pictures of the finished product. I was able to donate enough time to plan it, build the foundation, erect the frame and begin sheathing it. I didn't get to stay around to finish it off.
