Reminiscences
Upon consideration, I regret nothing. My woodshop was functional and productive - not perfect - but the effort expended in developing a layout was worth every minute. One change I would consider is swapping the locations of the drill press and the bandsaw. I use the bandsaw extensively to break down rough lumber and having it closer to the lumber racks would be beneficial. Aside from that, more storage never goes to waste.
As I write this I am planning my move into my next workshop – shop number seven. The lessons learned from this last workspace are proving very helpful. I hope that after this verbose narrative you will find that you haven’t wasted your time, feeling inspired to tackle your own woodshop organization conundrum. As usual, I have rambled on too long thus I bid you happy woodworking – be safe and have fun.
