This old bugger nearly took my thumb off once. The blade guard is removed as I was installing a new splitter I bought from Delta at the time. I will let you all know how it went. I am too cheap to buy the guard though, but it is only a plastic box suspended over the blade anyway. Sounds like a good project for the project page.
